Wow it has been awhile since I last made a blog post and I do apologize for the disappearance. However I am back and I have to say life is taking a positive turn. I am absolutely loving my job, working with children is more rewarding than I ever thought possible. I am really hoping to now become a fully qualified teacher and pursue my new dream of developing young minds as I find it give me satisfaction in a way I have never experienced before.
From now on I want this blog to be about everything it can be, work and life and the ups and downs. This is a space for me to share and talk about those topics you want to discuss or answer questions you have about anything. No matter if its health, life, beauty, work, weight or lifestyle. I am so thankful for all the support I get from family and friends that help me to better my life and make me more confident. Sorry again for taking such a break and hears to all the new things to come. xoxo
Its been a little while since I have posted and my apologies for that. The reality of my journey has started to hit home through the last two weeks and I think its time to share my feelings. On the positive side, I have started cycling every other day and although its a lot harder to get used to than I anticipated I am glad to be doing it and really feel like I get a great workout from it. The negative has come from what seems like an endless string of problems and yet I know most are fixable, over the next week I will be having a blood test and an ultrasound. My medical history is a long one and I don’t want to bore you with the details but I wanted to share that although I am worried about what is to come, I am glad afters years it is finally going to be dealt with. I am working hard to remain positive and although it is not always easy the more I do it, the more determined I become to conquer the roadblocks in my way (even if I have put them there). I posted a quote the other day that says “a river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence” This reminds me that my journey may not be easy and it may take a long time, but that time will lead me to achieve my goals and teach me to be unafraid of following my dreams.
With just under 4 weeks left until I start my job as a teaching assistant I decided to do the first essentials shop, yes I did say first as there will be another one still to do haha. A planner/organiser is a stationary essential for keeping track of activities, plans, meetings and key info and I love a bit of organisation. A good notepad with dividers is always a useful tool for making notes and writing anything you need while being able to separate the info into dates, subjects or categories. My other two essentials are a folder/file holder which is a must to always have at home if not at work to store all your loose paperwork and sticky note page markers. The page markers are great because they are convenient to make small, important notes without taking up the whole page or having bulky square sticky notes everywhere. I don’t know about you, but stationary supplies are a must in my life and I love a good excuse to shop for them and my new job turns out to be the perfect one!! xoxo
Today I got my helmet for my new bike that has been ordered and due to arrive on Monday. It is another small step in my journey to a better lifestyle. I have got a job as a Teaching Assistant due to start in September and I am fortunate enough that the school is only just over a mile away. I am going to aim to cycle every day unless the weather does not permit me too. By doing this I not only will improve my health and fitness but I will also be able to save an average of around £20 to £30 per month on fuel costs. This may not seem like a lot to some, but when you are saving to start your life and buy your own home that kind of money will make a huge difference to my future plans. Maybe think about how you can do the same, sometimes the little things can have the biggest impact xoxo
Great little tip for your evenings if you are dying to tone up your arm, leg and tummy muscles and loose inches from them. Get some small weights and do 30 triceps and bicep curls with them. For leg’s 20 side leg raises, 10 lunges and 10 squats. It really helps to tone and has already helped me lose an inch on my thighs, 2inches on my arms and an inch around my tummy. These are the Davina Mccall weights and can be bought online pretty inexpensively. Give them a go.On another note one point to being overweight that I want to share, as I am currently dealing with it, issues with your health. A cold normally takes the average person a week to get rid of two at worst, being overweight and in poor health, I find that you are often sick for a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks at a time. This causes problems not only in your work life but in you yourself, it is so hard when feeling unwell to find the motivation to eat properly and do the exercise. Therefore remember this thought for the day, ‘Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try’ so no matter what keep trying even if its something as small as doing some weights or eating properly always try to do something. xoxo
Thank you for joining me on this journey. The next year is going to follow a journey through health, life, fitness and beauty as I lose weight and change my life. I want to share my highs and lows, tips and tricks and hopefully, help those of you struggling with the same problems I have faced. My blog will be full of pictures ranging from food and clothing to makeup and skincare. It will also feature posts about the hardest parts of this journey like visits to the doctors or the hospital but also the positives of the change in weight and health results.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to sharing this Journey with you. xoxo
